Manufacturing Support Electrical Engineer
Location: Trostre (SA14)
Salary: Up to £44,000 per annum + Benefits
What you will do
As the Manufacturing Support Engineer, you will:
- Determine and set engineering priorities in collaboration with line managers to optimise plant performance.
- Devise and implement planned maintenance and inspection schedules in line with statutory requirements.
- Ensure all engineering activities meet health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Allocate resources and materials effectively to ensure maintenance schedules are met on each shift.
- Monitor engineering teams and contractors to ensure work is carried out to plan.
- Manage staff training and development to create a safety-conscious and technically competent workforce.
- Control expenditure on spares, materials, and labour, ensuring that budgets are adhered to.
- Lead initiatives to improve engineering practices and plant performance, serving as the key electrical expert for the team.
- Prepare and submit minor capital and major maintenance proposals to ensure plant availability and performance improvements.
- Participate in an out-of-hours call-out system to support fault resolution and breakdowns.
What you will need
You should have a solid practical background in electrical engineering, with relevant experience in a supervisory role. A minimum of an HNC qualification or equivalent is required.
Experience in the following areas would be beneficial:
- Electrical safety and safe systems of work
- Design of electrical systems
- PLCs and SCADA systems
- Digital drives and motor control
- Distribution systems and switching
- Electronic systems such as load cells and tensiometers
